Knowing your current week of pregnancy is one of the most practical pieces of information you need during gestation. Most articles, books, and prenatal checkups are categorized by weeks. It defines what physical symptoms are normal, when your baby starts developing specific reflexes, and what lab tests need to be scheduled.
This guide explains how to calculate which week of pregnancy you are in today and how fetal milestones map to your weekly calendar.
Your current week of pregnancy is computed by counting the days elapsed since the start of your last menstrual period (LMP) and grouping them into 7-day windows. Dividing the total days by 7 gives you the completed weeks, and the remainder indicates the additional days. You are always in the week *following* your completed weeks. For example, completing 8 weeks means you are in your 9th week of pregnancy.
By entering your details in our calculator above, you can find your precise week, your trimester status, and estimated baby size instantly.

Your pregnancy week is determined by counting the weeks elapsed since the first day of your last period. For example, if it has been 25 days since your LMP, you are in your 4th week of pregnancy (3 weeks and 4 days).
Completed weeks refers to the number of full weeks that have passed. The current week refers to the week you are actively in. If you are '12 weeks and 3 days,' you have completed 12 weeks and are currently in your 13th week.
